Whose Stories Does a Historic House Tell?
Discover
In Prospect Park, Lefferts Historic House is interpreted through the lives and resilience of Indigenous people of Lenapehoking and Africans enslaved by the Lefferts family. This approach places dispossession, resistance, and community memory within the house's story. It invites visitors to consider whose histories have been emphasized and whose require closer attention.
