Whitney Museum of American Art
An American Art Conversation
Discover
The Whitney Museum of American Art focuses on American art and artists. Its exhibition program offers a way to explore how artists respond to the world around them. The Whitney Biennial is part of the institution’s identity, but visitors should check the current calendar rather than assume that exhibition is always on view.
Before you go
Check current exhibitions and gallery access. No Biennial dates or specific artwork availability are asserted.
Social
A museum visit can begin with one question: what is this artist asking us to notice? At the Whitney, American art and artists provide many possible starting points for that conversation.
What kind of artwork makes you stop and ask a question?
