Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park

A Railway Becomes a River Walk

Discover

Walkway Over the Hudson transforms a former railroad bridge between Poughkeepsie and Highland into a public pedestrian park. Rail service ended after a 1974 fire; the bridge opened in its new role in 2009. The crossing connects the story of industrial transportation with a different way to experience the Hudson River landscape.
