Staten Island's Conference House takes its name from an unsuccessful meeting held in 1776 to seek an end to the Revolutionary War. The historic stone house offers a setting for considering negotiation as part of the conflict's history. Reflect on the choices facing those involved, rather than reading the outcome as inevitable.
