Kartchner Caverns State Park is home to one of the world's longest soda straw stalactites, measuring over 21 feet long. It's like a skinny, delicate straw made of rock! 2. Inside the caverns, you can find "helictite" formations that grow in unusual, twisted shapes, defying gravity. These unique formations are very rare and can only be seen in a few places on Earth. 3. The park houses a hidden gem called the "Big Room," a massive chamber in the caverns that is longer than a football field. It's like stepping into a whole new underground world! 4. Kartchner Caverns State Park was discovered in 1974 by two spelunkers (cave explorers) who hiked 100 feet down, through a narrow crack, before finding a stunning underground oasis. Talk about an amazing adventure! 5. The park has an incredible living cavern, where the caves are actively growing with formations growing at a rate of about one inch every century. That's slower than your fingernails grow!
